Self-Shiatsu and TCM for Working Hands

  • Hamilton, MA United States (map)

Do you have stiff, achy hands, and sore finger joints? This evening workshop will benefit folks who work a lot with their hands: hello cooks, artisans, crafters, and bodyworkers (and anyone else experiencing pain or arthritis)!

This class introduces a series of self-treatments such as movement, nerve flossing, shiatsu compression, energetic work and moxabustion.

Led by Amy Mills at a private estate in Hamilton, MA.

Amy, New Harmony’s shiatsu & acupressure practitioner, began to develop sore hands as a result of grasping and using finger and palm pressure all day in the clinic, and sewing and cooking at home. After consulting various practitioners for relief, Amy combined their suggestions with her own strategies built from the rich tradition of shiatsu and traditional Chinese medicine.

The fee for this class includes the price of a Tiger Warmer moxabustion tool, a small tool for warming the channels of the hand or holding focused heat on specific acupoints. It is easy to use and has many applications for pain relief beyond this hand treatment.

*If you have arthritis, with swollen joints and limited mobility in your fingers, you will likely benefit from this course: however, if your joints tend to be hot and inflamed (not common), the moxabustion may not be right for you. In that case, you can contact New Harmony directly to register for the course for a reduced fee without the tool.
