ABOUT LARRY YOUNG
With a home base in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Larry Young has been an AmSat certified teacher since 1992. The American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) is the largest professional organization of teachers of the Alexander Technique in the United States. Larry came to study this technique thirty years ago to help improve his violin playing and singing, but much to his surprise, quickly discovered that using it also greatly improved his mental attitude as well. He found that his mind was clearer and that little things that had been bothering him no longer seemed important. After one lesson, he felt like the person he really was had somehow emerged from underneath layers of habitual muscular tensions. Larry realized he wanted to feel like that more often and to share his extraordinary experience with others, which led him to teaching.
